New autocad revit series



San Rafael, Calif. — Autodesk, Inc. (www.autodesk.com) announced the availability of Autodesk AutoCAD Revit Series 7, a tool that combines Autodesk Revit 7, with AutoCAD 2005. AutoCAD Revit Series 7 combines CAD technology building information modeling in a single product, enabling architects and building industry professionals to create, manage and share design information.

Environmental performance assessment tool

Huntington, Vt. — EarthShift (www.earthshift.com) offers tools for life cycle assessment and modeling such as SimaPro 6.0 US, a life cycle assessment modeling tool for products; OpenLC, an open source tool for LCA and Life Cycle Costing modeling; and Umberto, a process modeling tool that can be used for LCA and LCC of complex processes.

NAIMA updates 3e plus software

Alexandria, Va. — The North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) launched its updated version of 3E Plus, an insulation thickness computer program that calculates the amount of insulation needed to use less energy, reduce air emissions and improve process efficiency. The 3E Plus program, available for free at www.PipeInsulation.org, quantifies energy, environmental and cost savings yielded by increasing pipe, duct and vessel insulation levels in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

Software for facility management

Portland, Ore. — Green Building Services (www.greenbuildingservices.com) has partnered with NorthWrite Inc. to develop a customized software application that helps project managers and facility managers incorporate sustainable facility management practices into their building operations. Called, Green Building WorkSite, the software includes measures to track and enhance indoor air quality, water conservation, recycling and waste reduction, and energy efficiency. The interactive system maintains the building information on assignments, reports, maintenance, tracking and schedules, and notifies the user when it’s time to perform a task.

LEED cost benefit software

Atlanta — Greenlight Strategies has formally released ecologic3, a Web-based software tool that performs cost benefit analysis of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System. This patent-pending project analysis tool (www.ecologic3.com) allows all project team members to come together and analyze all environmental attributes based on customizable economic analysis platforms.
