The U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act by a vote of 219-212. The bill now moves to the Senate.

The bill calls for greenhouse gas emissions in the United States to be reduced by 17 percent from 2005 levels by 2020 and 83 percent by 2050. A key aspect to meeting this goal is a greenhouse gas cap-and-trade program for sectors of the economy responsible for 85 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, which includes utilities, heavy industry and refiners, among others.

Title: American Clean Energy and Security Act

We all need to contact our State Senator(s) to get this passed. This bill not only shows we are committed to building GREEN but it will also create new jobs. My wife teaches in a Construction Management Program at our state university. There are fewer kids finding jobs now coming out of college and this bill, if passed, will help create jobs for a lot of college graduates in several areas of study.

Title: American Clean Energy and Security Act

American Clean Energy and Security Act signals the end to American manufacturing industry. Foreign countries without environmental regulations and low energy costs will aggressively court US manufactures resulting in the loss of countless jobs. The increased cost of energy will drive the cost consumer goods and services up substantially. Our home heating and cooling cost will also raise to unpresidented levels forcing families to lower their standard of living.

Contact do your homework, research both sides of the issue and aggressively contact your representation in Washington.

Contact your Senator and tell them to vote against this. This will cost jobs See the Italy study on wind power net job loss report. Also many scienteist believe sun spots not carbon from industry is possibly causing some warming some times. The real science is being repress that shows no warming changes. See the Wall Street Journals report on EPA repressing their own studies.

Verious reports that show ice building up in areas. Reports that Polar bears are more than in previous years.

Title: bad legislation

This is a take-over of the US economy by foreign/ private interests. The so called "carbon tax" is not a tax that goes to the federal government but money that falls into private hands of the carbon traders, Al Gore, Henry Paulson and a slew of other big-shots from Goldman Sachs. More money "taxed" from power generation companies goes to another non-government entitity called the Carbon Storage Research Corporation which can redirect the money to "research grants" to the other carbon cronies. This bill was rammed through the House and no one read the bill. Unless you speak up and tell your democrat and republican senators "H--l no", you too will become a vassal to the globalist carbon barons.
