Seattle — 1 Seattle, a mixed-use facility combining hotel space and residential space, recently broke ground. The goal of the hotel is to form a meticulously thoughtful community of residences and “City Suite” hotel condominiums as well as a spa, restaurant, gourmet grocer and athletic club. 1 Seattle’s interiors and public spaces plan to use new woods harvested from sustainably managed forests, recycled and local building materials, water-efficient landscaping, occupancy sensors and lighting control systems to minimize energy use, materials with low VOCs, outside air delivery monitoring and improvement, dual-flush waster closets, and energy-saving light fixtures, along with the facility offering recycling and priority parking and recharging for alternative energy vehicles.
