Alpharetta, Ga. — Vulcraft’s Ecospan composite floor system uses 99 percent recycled material in the joists and 70 percent recycled material in the decking, the company reports. The composite design of Ecospan allows for longer span, lightweight shallow joists that offer greater rigidity. Wide joist spacing and open web design provide easy access for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design and installation. It has also received superior sound ratings. With regard to installation, no stripping of formwork or shoring is required, and it uses standard steel joist and deck components so there is no learning curve for steel erectors. www.ecospan-usa.com.
