Greetings and welcome to the July 2006 edition of the ED+C eNews.
Summertime...and the livin's easy.. This edition is going out on a Wednesday this round, as the first Tuesday of this month fell on the actual 4th of July Holiday. Here's hoping everyone had a chance to relax, unwind and enjoy some quality outdoor time.
ED+C has been issuing Special Bulletin eNews briefs from various sponsors, and wanted to relay some constructive feedback we received regarding the "Specifying Green Paint" eBulletin. The following was sent in by Steven A. Olson, AIA, LEED AP, vice president Solomon Cordwell Buenz:
Recently an email brief was sent out that appears to be a combination advertisement and editorial- advertorial as some would call it. These can be helpful provided one is willing to filter through the sales message. What would be more helpful, particularly in relation to the green paints piece, would be information on the applicability of the products for LEED certified projects. The article, and the manufacturer's website, make no mention of the GreenSeal standards that are in the LEED credit EQ 4.2. In order for professionals to spec these products it is necessary to know they are LEED applicable.
Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Steve
ED+C loves receiving feedback from our readers, and will try to incorporate suggestions and comments into the publication. If you have a comment, criticism, anecdote or just want to drop a line, you can email me at maytonj@bnpmedia.com.
Until next time,
Joe Mayton ED+C Associate Editor
