Welcome to the ED+C eNews for September 2006 |
|
Greetings and welcome to the September 2006 edition of the ED+C eNews.
Lots of stuff going on here at ED+C as we bid adieu to summer, and prepare for a plethora of Fall activity, with both ED+C's continuing Educast webinar series on green schools (http://webinar.edcmag.com) and, of course, Greenbuild 2006|Denver to look foward to.
I also wanted to share some reader feedback that addresses some of the myriad changes ED+C has undertaken to keep us atop our game as the Premier Source For Integrated High-Performance Building:
David H. Brown, P.E., of Harriman Associates had this to say about our 100 percent recycled paper stock: "I love the paper you've been printing the ED+C magazine on recently. Not only is it made from recycled content, but it will be more recyclable for me (we only have white-paper recycling at the office, not glossy), and I like the look and feel better. With glossy magazines, I find that the modern inks don't hold up well, and my finger sweat and oils pucker the covers. Not so with the nice thick cover on this!"
Dorothy L. Fowles, Ph.D., FASID, FIIDA, FIDEC
Professor, Interior Design Iowa State University writes: "Thanks for your help - you gave me the information I needed.Your magazine provides much useful, documented information to support sustainable design, which is what is needed to convince others of its benefits.Thanks."
And contributor Victor Korzen of U.S. Way lighting writes: "Thank you very much for publishing my article online as a 'Web exclusive.' (Follow the LEEDer
, July 2006 archives). I would like to share with you the praises I received from a number of professionals who have read that article. 'Great writing! Really, I'm sincerely impressed. You have a great, friendly, humorous style that is terribly lacking in the typical, dry, factual journal articles. The opening draws one in. And the reader senses your playful yet highly professional personality. ED+C should be congratulated for that feature.' Looks like we both have gained on reputation and professionalism. I just want to pass the credit to you. You highly deserve it!"
Additionally, you may have noticed a recent change on our websites. We are adding FREE registration to our sites -- by collecting additional data about our visitors, we'll be able to better target our editorial content and offer additional exclusive online coverage of case studies, educational sessions and CEU credits, industry news, and an online, fully-searchable version of our Green Book (www.EDCmag.com/greenbook
) through our safe and secure network. And, to give you even more incentive to register, we will be giving away prizes to a few randomly selected registered guests! Please visit our website(s) today and register for a chance to win, only at www.EDCmag.com or www.SustainableHomemag.com.
Until next time,
