Welcome to the ED+C eNews for April 2008

It's April Fool's Day - No Foolin'Millie_Avatar

Welcome to ED+C's latest eNews, which happens to fall on April Fool's Day. Contrary to what many do on this prankster's holiday, you're not going to find any practical jokes here. Yes, it's hard to believe, but it's all legit.

I had actually planned on writing an all-out gag eNewsletter, a la the April edition of my alma mater's school newspaper. I even discussed the idea with senior editor, Michelle Hucal and Sustainable Facility's editor, Joe Mayton. Both thought it was a good idea.

So, why didn't I do it?

I'd like to say that it was the fear of being burned at the stake by a mob of angry ED+C readers - much like the Flanders family was torched in an episode of The Simpsons after making fun of the Simpsons and their pagan April 1 new year. But that's not the reason.

Nope, I actually hadn't been expecting Michelle to be onboard with the flippant idea and was caught off guard when she agreed to it. Sadly, I couldn't think of enough to fill an eNewsletter in such a short amount of time.

The whole thing does have me wondering: What would you like to see in an eNews? What wouldn't you like to see in an eNews? (Besides my editor's notes. Sorry, but y'all are stuck with those.)

Just send me an email at teald@bnpmedia.com.

Cheers,

Derrick Teal

Two profound, life-changing events are converging to create the most significant crisis of modern time - the warming of the earth's atmosphere by burning fossil fuels, and the rapid depletion of global petroleum and natural gas reserves. As these events intensify over the coming years, they will dramatically change how we live and how we relate to the natural world.
