Welcome to the ED+C eNews for January 2008

Happy New Year and welcome to 2008!
Hopefully, everyone has had ample time to relax with family and friends, and all of you are well rested and ready to take on what’s next.
Personally, I’m glad to be back at work. I can finally rest. It’s truly frightening to me that spending time with my family is more work than the daily duties of an editor at a magazine. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and all, but…wow.
I know that you’ll be wowed by what we here at ED+C have in store for you this year. For starters, those of you who have missed out on Sustainable Home since it ventured out on its own will be happy to see in January’s issue of ED+C that it’s once again a special section. We’ve also been making steady progress on our Integrated Media (IM) program and, coupled with our soon-to-be revamped and easier-to-navigate website, you’ll be able to keep better informed than ever before.
You can begin by signing up for the start of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes Webinar series that takes place on February 13. The subsequent sessions will take place on March 12 and April 9.
A second Webinar, the SCS Indoor Air Quality series, begins on February 26 and continues on March 26 and April 22. Sign-up for both is simple and easy, just click on the tile ads to the right for more information.
Those of you wanting to enter this year's Excellence in Design Awards and have yet to do so better not put it off any longer. The deadline for entries is February 6, 2008. Don't wait, enter today!
Though it's hard to believe, all of this is just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe work is...well, work. It’s going to be an exciting year!
Cheers,
Derrick Teal ED+C Associate Editor

Energy Efficiency…Simplified.
EFCO’s innovative E-Wall Silicone Gasket curtain wall system is easy to install, durable and energy efficient. With no internal joint seals, mullion plugs, pressure plates or snap on covers, the time and labor to install E-Wall is minimized. The molded-corner silicone gaskets stay in place permanently, even under extreme weather conditions, and the system's efficient compression gasket prevents leakage.

In addition to the system's easy installation benefit and sound construction, it also meets and exceeds all the current standards for thermal performance levels and energy conservation. To learn more about EFCO’s E-Wall Silicone Gasket curtain wall system and our other earth-friendly products, please visit www.efcocorp.com today. |
