Editor's Note

Welcome to the March edition of the ED+C eNews ..derrick2.

Last month, I asked readers to send me an e-mail expressing their thoughts about whether or not a straight-up switch to renewable energy in America was feasible or if we needed a kind of grace period.

The question generated some of the lengthiest responses I've ever received. While there were people on both sides of the issue, nearly everyone stated that whatever happens regarding the switch, we need to have a well-thought plan. A knee-jerk response to public pressures could likely end up in the government throwing good money after bad. And we could end up in a worse situation than the one we're currently in.

For those who still want to weigh in on the issue, I've created a blog topic at www.EDCmag.com . I'd like to post some of the responses that I received, but silly me forgot to ask for permission the last time. So, those of you who sent me a response and would like me to post it to the blog, please send me a short e-mail and let me know.

In addition to K-12 schools and Sustainable Home, this month at ED+C we're covering water conservation and treatment. So much has happened to take our minds off it, but just last year an AP investigation reported that numerous pharmaceuticals were found in public drinking water throughout the country, which set off a furor. Though we're surrounded by it, a very small percentage of our water is actually fit and accessible for human consumption. Take a look at the March issue of ED+C and visit www.EDCmag.com to find out how some are conserving our most precious resource.

And if you want more information about water conservation, be sure to sign up for our topic-specific Targeted eNews. This month, of course, targets water conservation.

Cheers,
