The Green Builder Program of Colorado has launched a $1 million, one-year public education and advertising campaign to convince Coloradoans to buy 10,000 Built Green homes by the year 2002. The group has already built 1,500 homes in metro Denver. The goal is to send two messages: “It’s time to change the fundamental approach that home builders take in designing and building homes.” and “It’s time for home buyers to know about what goes into designing and building their homes.”
The initiative began with the Built Green Parade of Homes at Lowry, a former Air Force Base which is being developed into “metro Denver’s premier new neighborhood.” The Parade of Homes included a 10,000-square-foot outdoor education center, a Built Green Pavilion and six highly advanced Built Green homes.
