Call for Green Star Award Submissions

Baltimore, MD - The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) is searching for the country's best maintained landscapes and is now accepting entries for its acclaimed Green Star Awards Program. The deadline for entries is Friday, August 6, 2010.

While Hollywood has the Emmys and athletics has the Olympics, the grounds management profession has the PGMS Green Star Awards. This program brings national recognition to grounds management programs that exhibit a high degree of excellence in certain areas, most importantly in sustainability practices and policies but also in turf management, landscape design and more. The Green Star Awards Program compliments other national landscape award programs that recognize outstanding landscape design and construction.

To enter, simply fill out the entry form, submit it along with the payment and the entry to PGMS headquarters at 720 Light St., Baltimore, MD 21230. The cost is only $150 for PGMS members and $225 for others. All entries must be submitted by CD. There will be 15 entry categories and three classes of awards: Grand Awards, Honor Awards and Merit Awards. Each winning entry will be recognized at the 2010 Awards Banquet in Louisville, Kentucky as part of the annual School of Grounds Management & GIE+EXPO set to take place Oct. 27-30, 2010.

An official entry form for this year's contest and other details can be found at www.pgms.org/greenstars.htm
