Call for Submissions for FSC Awards 2011

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) US and FSC Canada invite project submissions for the 7th Annual Design & Build with FSC Awards.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) US & FSC Canada invite project submissions for the 7th Annual Design & Build with FSC Awards.This is the only award FSC US & FSC Canada give each year—recognizing excellence in the use of FSC materials in both residential and commercial/institutional design and construction.

This distinguished Award honors designers and builders who are committed to using FSC-certified wood and creating a marketplace that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically prosperous forest management.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The Design & Build with FSC Awards 2011 are open to homeowners, architects, interior designers, general contractors, builders, consultants and other professionals committed to using FSC-certified wood.

Eligible projects:

-- Commercial, institutional, mixed-use, or residential

-- At least 50 percent of new wood used (by cost) is FSC-certified

-- Must be located in the United States or Canada

-- Must have been completed during or after 2009

Awards Process and Judging

Project teams must complete and submit an application form to FSC on or before Monday, August 1, 2011. Applicants will be notified of the awards decisions by early-September. The winning projects will be chosen by an independent jury of recognized professionals representing diverse fields within the forest products and green building industry. Winners will be announced at The 7th Annual Design & Build with FSC Awards Reception, which will take place during the U.S. Green Building Council’s Greenbuild 2011, in Toronto, during the week of October 4-7, 2011.
