HydroGuard RE, a protected membrane roof surface, insulates, protects and cools, according to the manufacturer, Hydrotech. HydroGuard RE is a Dow STYROFOAM insulation board topped with a light-colored concrete with an initial reflectance of >80%. Dow STYROFOAM insulation is moisture resistant and has high thermal value. The company also notes that the new product is an Energy Star qualified roof product that also protects the waterproofing membrane from environmental extremes. LEES - Modern Collection
The new Modern Collection of tufted carpet from Lees features three design patterns: square layers, cables and cubes. The backing is Unibond RE and the primary bonding agent is a 100% renewable resource; the main bonding unit is Unibond hot melt thermoplastic meeting the 20% post-consumer total recycled content USGBC LEED 2.1 criteria. STONEY CREEK – Pervious Pavement
Stoney Creek Materials offers pervious pavements and flexible pavements. Though the concept is not new, this particular paving product is new. Stoney Creek’s pervious pavement has a 5,000-PSI compressive strength. Recently, Shaw introduced Green With Envy in the Stile line of modular carpet. This carpet tile (24-inch squares) is made up of 100% ecosolution q solution-dyed type 6 continuous filament nylon produced with recycled content. The backing is 100% ecoworx PVC-free polyolefin with recycled content. Both the face yarns and the backing are 100% recyclable and meet the LEED recycled-content requirements of 40% recycled content. The carpet is available in a variety of colors, tweeds and tonals, and can be returned to Shaw at the end of its life cycle by calling the toll-free number provided on the back of each tile (see photo).
