FLIR b-Series Infrared Cameras

FLIR’s b-Series thermal imaging cameras — the b40, b50, and b60 — offer stand-out infrared diagnostic capabilities in a convenient point-and-shoot design. Designed to help energy efficiency consultants, HVAC technicians, building inspectors, insulation installers, disaster/water damage restoration professionals, and pro thermographers alike, FLIR b-Series infrared cameras find problems faster and more easily. Leveraging FLIR’s global leadership in infrared technology, the b-Series offers numerous premium-level features.

Headlining the b-Series’ list of innovations is FLIR’s exclusive new MeterLink technology, which displays and documents readings from an Extech InspectorPro moisture-meter directly onto infrared images using Bluetooth wireless connectivity. When moisture is identified by a FLIR camera, exacting moisture readings taken by an Extech InspectorPro can then be transmitted to the camera and recorded on the image (plus other environmental readings such as relative humidity and ambient temperature). MeterLink transforms building-related inspections by expanding the scope of diagnostics, saving you time annotating readings, eliminating data errors, and adding more value to your customer reports.

The Instant Reports mobile application from FLIR generates inspection reports on-board the camera, without a PC. The industry-first functionality uses an on-board, mobile version of FLIR’s reporting software adapted for expedited, on-the-go reporting. Inspectors can use the mobile application to easily compile images and findings into a fully formatted PDF report with actionable insights that can be easily given to a client at a jobsite via USB memory stick. (The camera’s Copy to USB feature permits users to quickly transfer images, reports and measurement findings to a USB stick without cables or a PC.)

Instant Reports allows inspectors to save time on many jobs by eliminating the added steps of preparing and sending a report at a desktop or laptop after an inspection. Plus, Instant Reports improves connectivity with customers who can now receive report findings “on the spot.”

Bluetooth also powers the first-ever voice annotation capabilities via wireless headset. Inspectors can connect a Bluetooth wireless headset to a FLIR thermal imager for easier recording of voice comments associated with their inspections. Using familiar Bluetooth headsets, users can improve the recording and playback quality of their voice comments, especially in noisy inspection sites.

Built-in alarms indicate when insulation is missing or damaged and when dew point conditions are favorable for moisture-related hazards or damage.

Available FUSION scalable picture-in-picture allows the user to precisely blend an IR image with a visual reference image on a large 3.5-inch color LCD for easier diagnostics and more compelling reports.

The built-in visual camera eliminates the need for a separate digital camera, offering up to 2.3 megapixel resolution for amazingly rich details coupled with built-in illuminator lamps to ensure quality images even in poorly lit sites.

Two percent accuracy and a thermal sensitivity of <0.1°C at 25°C deliver accurate and conclusive findings.

Infrared detectors ranging from 120x120, 140x140, to 180x180 pixels lead the class in IR resolution.

A five-hour swappable Li-ion battery and a lightweight, 1.3 pound, ergonomic grip design makes all-day, one-handed, “point and shoot” operation easier than ever. Contact FLIR to learn about which b-Series imager is right for you.
