Madison, Wis. — Green Built Home (www.greenbuilthome.org), a voluntary program of Wisconsin Environmental Initiative (WEI) in partnership with the Madison Area Builders Association, announced that certification was initiated at a ceremony for the first ever Green Built Remodeled Home. The three-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath home being remodeled by Second Nature Homes (www.secondnaturehomes.com) of Madison will far exceed the program's sustainable building and energy efficiency standards.

Second Nature Homes offers a set of green remodeling features customized for each property. The home will include an additional fourth bedroom, newly remodeled bathrooms, high-efficiency furnace and appliances, low or non-toxic finishes, sealants, and insulation, and sustainable flooring. Home Performance Evaluations will also be conducted for every home by a qualified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR consultant.
