Water Heater Supplies Whole House, Saves Energy
Houston, Texas – Microtherm Inc.’s water heater promises an endless supply of hot water, saves energy and frees up storage space. The new water heater, called the Seisco, doesn’t have a water tank. It uses electronically controlled electrical elements to heat water as it flows through, so hot water supply is endless. And since it avoids reheating the same water over and over again, the Seisco flow-through heater can save 25 percent or more on energy costs compared with a conventional hot water tank, according to David Seitz, the inventor of the Seisco. It is usually mounted on a wall.

Hot Water Available at the Touch of a Button
Costa Mesa, Calif. — The Metlund Hot Water On D’mand System from Advanced Conservation Technologies circulates the ambient temperature water in the hot water pipes (that is normally lost down the drain) back to the water heater at the push of a button. As the ambient temperature water in the cold water line travels towards the hot water heater, the system fills the hot water line with hot water. When the hot water reaches the system, a thermal sensor senses a temperature rise and quickly closes the zone valve while it shuts the pump off. This results in getting hot water to the fixtures four to five times quicker (on average), greater convenience, a savings in water and energy, and a reduction in sewage costs, the company says.

Low NOx Burner for Boilers and Water Heaters
Northvale, N.J. — Aerco International Inc., introduces a new low NOx (Nitrogen oxide) burner for use with its KC1000 high-efficiency, gas-fired boilers and water heaters. With the new low NOx burner, the KC1000 models produce >30 ppm of NOx corrected to 3 percent of excess air. The new low NOx burner has been certified by The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and with Rule 117.465 by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. With the new burner, the KC1000 models maintain low NOx emissions over the entire 14:1 operating range of the boiler and water heater. Aerco can also retrofit the low NOx burner into installed KC1000 models.Circle No. 107
