EUREKA, CA — Simpson Timber Co.’s California operations has successfully completed third-party certification of its timberlands in northern California. In April 2001, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP conducted an independent, third-party audit. The audit certifies that Simpson has met the objectives of the American Forest & Paper Association’s Sustainable Forestry (SFI) Program, 2001 edition.
“At Simpson, responsible stewardship is the cornerstone of our management philosophy,” said Jim Brown, vice president and general manager of Simpson’s California operations.
The SFI program consists of a comprehensive system of principles, objectives and performance measures that promote the practice of sustainable forestry, while protecting water, wildlife, plants and soil.
