Pacific Crest Transformers’ SPSU photovoltaic (PV) solar converter step-up transformer is designed for connecting solar farms to the electricity grid at large-scale solar power installations. The SPSU is designed for the additional loading associated with non-sinusoidal harmonic frequencies often found in inverter-driven transformers. Multiple windings reduce transformer costs and minimize transformer footprint by combining the step-up function to fewer transformers. The SPSU is rated for installation in the highest earthquake rating zones. In addition, the solar converter step-up transformer incorporates a variety of fluids, including less flammable fluids required for enclosed applications.
