WASHINGTON, DC - According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), 1999 production of low temperature solar heating collectors surpassed 1998 by 17% or 1.3 million square feet of collectors. Third quarter sales in 1999 grew by 7%, and fourth quarter sales grew by 23%.
The application of low-temperature collectors for the heating of swimming pools has been recognized as the most cost-effective method to heat and extend the swimming season for swimming pools. According to the SEIA, over 100,000 U.S. pools have solar heating equipment.
