Johnson Controls, the global leader in delivering solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, announces an addition to its line of York Affinity humidifiers. The new Affinity Large Bypass WaterSaver humidifier uses a patented water delivery system that includes a small float chamber, electronic water level sensors and a wicking water panel.
The float chamber in the Model 4000 eliminates the need for a reservoir and the water panel wicks water from the bottom of the panel toward the top in a sponge-like action. This wicking process allows for 100 percent of the water in the unit to be utilized in the evaporation process, with virtually no standing water. In fact, no more than eight ounces of water remains in the system at any given time. To ensure good evaporation, the panel should be changed twice per season, and the unit comes with one extra humidifier pad to equip the homeowner for one complete season.
The technology and design of the Model 4000, including quick left-right bypass conversion and reversible housing, allow for easy installation and require minimal maintenance. All humidifier housing parts that come in contact with water are nonmetal (except for the valve and humidifier pad) and will not rust or corrode under normal operating conditions. In addition, the humidifier pad and the scale control insert efficiently trap mineral deposits, which are often the cause of damage to working parts in other humidifiers.
The WaterSaver humidifier’s performance benefits make it suitable for a variety of applications, including homes with septic systems, those with older drum-style humidifiers and homes without floor drains. Homeowners concerned about water conservation will also appreciate the efficiency of a computerized whole house humidification system. In addition to water and energy savings, the humidifier ensures improved indoor air quality and comfort while protecting against cracked furniture and woodwork.
