Web Exclusive: Sacramento Homebuilder Goes Eco-Friendly

Sacramento homebuilder, Tim Lewis Communities, announced plans to build several of its new communities to exceed state standards for energy efficiency, certifying them as a California Green Builder. Three communities will offer Solar Living Homes and were available for pre-sale beginning in late March and mid-April 2007.

"We've always strived to offer the highest standards of amenities and choices in the homes we build, said Tim Lewis, president of Tim Lewis Communities. “Now, our homes will include the most up-to-date energy saving and water conserving features. Homeowners will have a feeling of satisfaction at having done something good for the environment while saving money on utility bills over the life of the home. We are pleased to begin pre-sales on three of these communities in late March and mid April (2007)."

Energy-saving and water-conserving features such as dual-glazed ENERGY STAR-rated vinyl windows, quick recovery high-efficiency 50-gallon gas water heaters, sealed gas fireplaces and full exterior weather stripping are only a few of the many amenities that will lessen environmental impact and lower energy bills. Homes will reduce water usage by at least 20,000 gallons a year compared to "non-green" homes.

Tim Lewis Communities' first three green neighborhoods will feature new home designs ranging in size from 1,142 to over 3,400 square feet with up to seven bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. All homes include varying room options such as offices, studies and bonus rooms.

Tim Lewis Communities began building custom homes in Sacramento 25 years ago and continues to bring the same sense of architectural design, quality of construction and superior customer service to neighborhoods in the greater Sacramento area. Tim Lewis Communities is winner of a coveted spot in the Top 3 in Customer Satisfaction with New Homebuilders in Sacramento by J.D. Power and Associates, and was named #1 Homebuilder in the Nation for Overall Customer Satisfaction by Eliant Homebuyer Surveys. For more information, visit www.TimLewis.com.
