Wireless Light Sensor

By Karrie Laughlin

ILLUMRA released a new solar-powered light sensor that the company reports can run indefinitely on a few hours of light per day. The ILLUMRA light sensor is made of recyclable plastic, is RoHS compliant, and is designed to help buildings qualify for LEED credits and comply with International Green Construction Code standard 189.1. The ILLUMRA light sensor communicates to controls through the uncrowded 315 MHz band and is designed to save energy by lowering the output of artificial light when daylight is present in a room. When fully charged, the sensors are designed to work in total darkness up to three days.
