Atlanta, Ga. — The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification to Teknion's wood casegoods. Now products from Teknion's six wood casegood lines will be offered with the GREENGUARD finish and materials package. Korato, Galatina, Modena, Volterra, Umbria, and Philadelphia are the first all-wood casegood lines to receive GREENGUARD Certification.

Producing wood furniture casegoods with minimal impact on indoor air quality is very difficult because the typical raw materials used have high levels of formaldehyde and other chemical emissions. Teknion took special care to select low-emitting raw materials to achieve GREENGUARD Certification for these products, according to GREENGUARD.

GREENGUARD Certified furniture and furnishings may contribute to points in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) program. GREENGUARD tested and certified office furniture is a requirement referenced under Credit 4.5 in the Indoor Environmental Quality section.
